A Night to Remember Gala Glimpse
November 3rd, 2025
Oh, what a night! Thank you for joining us for Gala Glimpse at The Roost Lounge! It was a night to remember—filled with incredible music from Marisa Corvo, a stunning dinner from Lulu’s Bistro, and the energy of a community that shows up for one another.
You got an early “glimpse” of what’s ahead on April 17 at A Night to Remember—our signature Gala celebrating Community Impact honorees Sue Townsley and Patrick J. Payne, and featuring The Boy Band Project. But more than a party, it was a reminder of why we gather: to support Cathedral City Senior Center’s mission to feed, connect, and care for our community.
Thank you to all of you who committed to sponsoring our April 17th Gala that evening. If you are interested in sponsoring a table, there’s still time. Please contact Dalaney at Dalaney@cathedralcenter.org
Un-Gala
May 3, 2025
This year’s Cinco De Mayo-inspired Un-Gala was a huge success! Festivities and fundraising united at this community event where guests explored our Center, experienced live classes, met the staff – all while enjoying authentic Mexican cocktails and tacos by La Tablita. Winston Gieseke of the Desert Sun kicked off the event with his bawdy and bold showtunes and had the crowd laughing and dancing in their chairs.
Next, we shared the news of the amazing $1 million gift from Patrick J. Payne and his challenge match. Our paddle raise brought a range of modest gifts to generous offerings, and the Senior Center was able to purchase a new three-door refrigerator and 150 new lobby chairs, sponsored quarterly birthday brunches through 2025, sponsored seniors and classes, and much more. We are thankful to our community for their generosity and helping ensure we never turn anyone away, regardless of their ability to pay.
Un-Gala
2024
In April 2024, Cathedral City Senior Center debuted a bold new approach to fundraising: the Un-Gala, hosted at the beautiful home of longtime supporters David Mizener and Arturo Carrillo.
Recognizing a growing “gala fatigue” across the desert, we set out to create something different, an intimate, energizing house-party style celebration that brought people together in a more relaxed, meaningful way. The result exceeded every expectation.
Guests gathered for an evening filled with connection, generosity, and the joy of supporting a mission that matters. Instead of the traditional ballroom format, the Un-Gala offered a warm, community-centered atmosphere where supporters could mingle, share stories, and see firsthand the impact their contributions make.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our hosts, sponsors, and guests, the 2024 Un-Gala raised $150,000 in critical funds that directly support our growing programs and services for seniors throughout Cathedral City. The Un-Gala didn’t just break the mold; it set a new standard for how philanthropy can feel: personal, joyful, and rooted in community.
A Night to Remember Gala
November 13, 2023
After the astounding success of the first A Night To Remember Gala, we gathered once again at the Agua Caliente Racho Mirage Cahuilla Ballroom to celebrate the progress and work of the center, our supporters, and help raise money.
Geoff Corbin, CCSC CEO, presented numerous Community Impact Award. The recipients were Bob Schram, Casey Mattos, Jeff McDonald, Charles Thomas, and The Roost Foundation, with a special recognition for Dinner with Patsi.
We were honored to have Peter Daut of KESQ as our Gala Emcee once again, and a performance by Supreme Reflections to finish the night. Thank you to MOMENTOUS and News Channel 3 for making this wonderful event yet another success.

Club 40 Signature Gala
February 22, 2022
After two years of waiting, Cathedral City Senior Center was finally able to celebrate our 40th anniversary in style! Our fundraising gala, Club 40, honored CCSC’s supporters, celebrated the work accomplished by the center, and help raise money for future endeavors.
Geoff Corbin, CCSC CEO, presented a Community Impact Award to Tim Wood State Farm Insurance and Tim Wood & Jim Scheibel for their dedication to ending senior hunger, and to the City of Cathedral City for their support of the community’s seniors.
Club 40 was sponsored by Desert Oasis Healthcare; David Mizener and Arturo Carrillo of Contractors State License Schools; Steve Tobin, Johnny Krupa, and the Grace Helen Spearman Charitable Foundation; and Shelley Kaplan, Alan Carvahlo, and Doug Schmidt of the Kaplan Trust.
We were honored to have Peter Daut of KESQ as Master of Ceremonies and a performance by Sam Harris to finish the night. A huge thank you to MOMENTOUS Events and Paul Clowers & Ellen Wolf of The Development Department for making this event a success.
